It is hard not to despair when every day shows us the unwillingness of most ctizens to face the hard reality - that we need to downsize and live more simply. That applies to most of my friends, who acknowledge the reality of the climate crisis yet still plan their next international flight. It's compounded by the deliberate denial we get from politicians, entrepreneurs, media shockjocks and 'influencers'. However, no surrender. Surrender is unthinkable.
