Two points though:

i. +2C above pre-industrial is less disastrous than +4C. So giving up is not an option.

ii. Consequently, action is better than moaning. So everyone who gives a damn should be lobbying, engaging with the media, calling out denial, and making it clear to politicians that we demand action - even if it hurts.
