Well said. . A bunch of us in our local 350 group write a steady stream of letters to our regional newspaper, which they often print, but they carefully edit out phrases such as child abuse or slow-motion genocide.

Most of my acquaintances 'get' the science, but have chosen to do nothing. I was going to say they've given up because they think there's nothing any one person can do, but I think that's too generous: they just won't lift a finger to help. Clearly their lifestyle is more important than their kids' future. It's increasingly hard to hold a rational conversation with people like that.
